A. J. Arnold

A. J. Arnold, 82, of Meadville, died there Dec. 16, 1999, at Franklin County Hospital.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bude Church of God. The Revs. Charles Jolly, Al Stockton and J. L. Touchstone officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Mr. Arnold was born Aug. 5, 1917 [sic 1916], in Amite County. He was the son of Robert S. “Bub” [sic “Bob”] Arnold and Ellan [sic Ella] Freeman Arnold.

He was retired from Franklin County District One and was a member of the Bude Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a brother, Jim Arnold of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Birtie [sic Bertie] Mae Arnold of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Herbert Thornton, Pete Norton, Billy Clanton, Allan Touchstone, Barney Core and Louis Smith. Honorary pallbearers were members of the C&S Hunting Club.
