Ada Harrell Hardy

Ada Harrell Hardy of Clinton, MS, beloved wife,mother, sister, friend and teacher passed away on January 15, 2015 at Hospice Ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ada Morris Harrell and two older brothers, Robert (Bob) and Lewis Harrell and nephew, Lewis F. Harrell, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Wilson Hardy and son, Hank Hardy of Clinton; daughter, Mary Hardy Kelly (Paul) of Hattiesburg, MS. Three grandchildren; Beth Hardy Walker (Austin) of Clinton, Steven Kelly (Ann Claire) and Ryan Kelly (Jennifer) of Hattiesburg; five great grandchildren; sister, Mary Harrell Coleman of Germantown, TN and nephew, David Hearn of Altamonte Springs, FL.

Ada grew up in Jackson where she was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church. She participated in choir performances as a soprano soloist and served as a Sunday School teacher. After graduating from Central High School and Belhaven College, she greatly enjoyed her career as an elementary school teacher. She taught for thirty- three years in Canton, MS and at Tri-County Academy.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to all the doctors, health care professionals, friends, and Pinehaven Presbyterian Church members who were involved and supportive during Ada's illness. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS on January 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be preceding the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
