Victoria Grant
Funeral service for Ada Victoria Grant, 93 of Winnsboro will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday July 5, 2006 in Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro with Rev. Marion Collier and Rev. Gerald Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, lead by Dr. J. Alan Miller. Arrangements are under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church.
She was born to the union of Dudley and Geneva Reeves Fussell on September 2, 1912. She went home to Glory Sunday, July 2, 2006 in Charlyn Nursing Center in Winnsboro.
At the age of 16, Ada Victoria Fussell married Rev. W.D. Grant in Fort Necessity. For 37 consecutive years Rev. and Mrs. Grant pastored rural Baptist Churches in Franklin Parish and reared 11 children. After Rev. Grant went home to the Lord, Mrs. Grant became very active in Temple Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by her 11 children and their spouses Betty and W.H. Slaughter of Wisner, Lela Cupit of McComb, MS, Amy McDaniel of McComb, MS Daniel and Betsy Grant of Kenai, AK, Flo Grant of Sicily Island, Shelby and Shirley Grant of Gilbert, Millie and Ben Bird of Winnsboro, Diane and Ray Sharp of Winnsboro, Charlotte and Tommy Lawson of Monroe, Wanda and Dennis Matlock of Colinston, and Jerry and Jimmie Ann Grant of Crossett, AR; and a large number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Grant's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Any planned memorial may be made to Temple Baptist Church or the Gideons International.
