Addie Belle Hill
Addie Belle Hill, age 82, of Austin, passed away on April 12, 2000.
She was a lifelong resident of Austin and was a member of the Congress Avenue Baptist Church. Addie worked for many years for the State of Texas in the Comptroller's Office and was a loyal and dedicated employee who was admired by her many co-workers.
After her retirement from the state, Addie took up the hobby of oil painting and became a very accomplished artist in this craft with a number of her paintings being recognized in the art community. Addie was seen as a kindhearted and loving person by her family and the many others who knew her simply as “Mother Hill.” She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Hill and a daughter, Betty Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Charolotte Lucas and husband, Charles, of Bastrop; sons, Kenny Dale Hill, Tommy Joe Hill and Terry Lee Hill and wife, Lynne, all of Austin; and daughter, Sherry Young of Dripping Springs; sister, Lucille Powell, of Austin; brothers, Henry Hill and Edward Hill of Austin, Douglas Hill of Houston and Thomas Hill of California. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2000, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ken Baldwin officiating. Interment to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Silver Pines Geriatrics Center in Bastrop with a special thank you to Dr. Steven Yount for all of their love and caring support to Addie.
