Walnut Grove, MS -- Aileen Allen Starling, 96, of Walnut Grove, died
Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Bethany House in
Madden.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9,
2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Walnut Grove
with Bro. Paul Jordan, Bro. Dewitt Bain, and Bro.
Dale Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Fuston
Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Starling was a native of Leake County and a
member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She and her
family owned and operated businesses in Walnut
Grove for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter,
her son Thomas, and daughter Carleen Griffin.
Survivors include: a daughter-in-law, Betty
Starling of Walnut Grove; a son-in-law, Bobby Joe
Griffin of Meridian; 3 granddaughters, Sherry
Starling and Melody Starling, both of Walnut Grove,
and Tammy Jones of Meridian; 2 great-grandchildren,
Brice Jones of Canada and Devin Jones of
Meridian; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were: Tommy Jones, Charles
Henderson, Steve Bain, Devin Jones, Roland Ray,
and Bill Starling.
Honorary pallbearers were: Tony Henry, Danny
Young, Stanley Peoples, and Larry Williams.
