Allen McCarty

Allen McCarty, 56, of Ovett, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg of a stroke. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, at Jones Funeral Home in Richton, with burial in Beech Cemetery. The Revs Bobbie Byrd and Troy Long will officate.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret McCarty of Ovett; three sons, Wendell Allen McCarty of Petal, Gary Joe McCarty of Clanton, Ala., and Thomas Albert McCarty of Ovett; one brother, Billy Earl McCarty of Lucedale; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Danny Byrd, Todd Bazor, Thomas R. Tisdale, Eddy Anderson, Tommy Holliman Tom Gatlin and Marshall Bradley, alternate. Jones Funeral Home in Richton was in charge of arrangements.
