Mrs. Wallace

Mrs. John H. Wallace, 85, of 3919 Third Ave, South, died today at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Johns-Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, the Rev. Ben D. Dunagan and the Rev. James S. Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood.

A native of Bethelem, Mrs. Wallace graduated from Six Mile Academy. She was a former member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Brent.

Mrs. Wallace moved to Birmingham in the early 1900s and was active in club work and political cirlces [sic] of the city. She ws the oldest active member of Avondale Presbyterian Church.

WALLACE, Mrs. Alberta Holley, age 85, of 3919 3rd Ave., S., widow of John H. Wallace, passed away Friday a.m. at a local hospital.

Survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Preston B. (Mary) Matthews and Mrs. W. E. (Katherine) Peasley, both of B'ham, Ala.; 4 sons, Frank L. Wallace, Jacksonville, Florida, John D., Marvin E., and Wade W. Wallace all of B'ham Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Sunday 3:30 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's, Elmwood Chapel. Rev. Ben D. Dunagan and Rev. James S. Cantrell, officiating. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers Roscoe Martin, Jackie P. Scott, Fletcher Morris, Arthur J. Hanes, Bennie E. Crow, Eugene and Clyde Harris.

Honorary pallbearers Colonel Al Lingo, Dr. Gordon G. Ross and the Elders and Deacons of the Avondale Presbyterian Church.
