Alcott B. Cox, Jr.
Shreveport, LA -- Funeral services for Alcott B. Cox, Jr. will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Officiating will be Father Paul Martin. Burial will follow the service at Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Cox, born February 11, 1921, and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 after a brief illness. Mr. Cox was a native of Jonesboro, Louisiana. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a former member of the Vestry. He was a retired Petroleum Geologist. He graduated from Centenary College and attended Louisiana State University Graduate School prior to entering the Service in 1942. He served on the USS COR CAROLI in the South Pacific and Philippines during World War II.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Walker Cox; and a sister, Kathleen Cox Stewart.
He is survived by his daughter, Carol Cox Posey and husband, David; and grandson, Tanner Posey.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.
