Alemia ``Teetsie'' Spradley
Funeral services for Alemia ``Teetsie'' Spradley, 81, of Carthage, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Murphy and Reverend Steve Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Reeves-McMillan Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Spradley died May 18, 2009 in Carthage.
Mrs. Alemia ``Teetsie'' Landreneau Spradley was born December 25, 1927 in Mamou, Louisiana to the marriage of Jules and Adies Fontenot Landreneau. She married Ellis Ray ``Cooter'' Spradley on July 16, 1948 in Eunice, Louisiana and celebrated many wonderful years before he preceded her in death. For the better part of her life, Mrs. Teetsie worked as a nurse and held many other occupations before entering Panola Nursing Home. She was a member of the New Shady Grove Baptist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Spradley is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Douglas Ray Spradley and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughter Judy Lancaster and husband Jimmy, of Longview; sons Willie Spradley and wife Debbe, of Post Falls, Idaho, and Timmy Spradley and wife Pam, of Carthage; dear friend and husband Mae and George Whitton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends; special thanks to the Panola Nursing Home and Heartsway Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Joe Lancaster, Joshua Lancaster, Douglas Spradley, Brandon Wilson, Phillip Spradley and Charles Spradley. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Spradley, Bob Spradley and George Whitton.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
