Alene Walsh McCarty

FOREST -- Alene Walsh McCarty, 99, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at The Bee Hive. Visitation was Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9-10 a.m. Services were 11a.m.at Rehobeth Baptist Church, with burial in Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Walters and Dr. Gordan Sansing officiated the services.

Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.

She lived in Forest from 1960 to1976 and from 1992 until her death, formally living in Atlanta and the Leesburg area. She was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, and Forest Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing with the Community Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry B. McCarty in 1967; three brothers, Alex Ray, James Earnest and Dr. Earl Walsh; and three sisters, Ada Gertrude Walsh, Edna McCarty and Lodena Johnson.

She is survived by one brother, Ronald C. (Mary Jo) Walsh, of Forest; one sister, Deryl Smoke, of Pulaski, Va.; a sister-in-law, Wilma Walsh, of Forest; nieces and nephews, Larry (Patsy) Bradford, Susan (Tom) Brown, Lynn (John) Albriton, Gayle (Mike) Massey, Kristy (Kim) Sessums, David (Lisa) Walsh, Mike (Pat) Walsh, Donna (William) Smith, Ann (Greg) Page, Bill (Cindy) Bradford, Betsy Walsh (Ron) Corkran, Kelly Walsh Leiden, Ron Jr.(Katherine) Walsh, Carla Keel, Gerilyn Denny, Joe Johnson, Chuck Johnson and Mac and Jim McCarty.

Pallbearers were Elton King, Bernard King, Joe Burnside, Larry Bradford and David and Mike Walsh. Honorary Pallbearers were Randolph Walsh, Henry ``Cotton'' Foreman, Wayne Hall, Lyle Tate and John White.
