STAPLETON, ALEX J. SR.

Died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday at the Dixon Memorial Hospital in Denham Springs. He was 79, a resident of Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs, and a native of Mississippi. He was a retired state worker.

Body at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, with religious services to be held at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Allen Johnson. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by six sons, Leroy and Otho, both of Mobile, Ala., Alonzo of Muskegon, Mich., A. J. of Baton Rouge, Percy G. of Baker and Buford of Long Beach, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Maxine Stewart of Picayune, Miss., Mrs. Annie J. Spears of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. Lorene Kirkland of Poplarville, Miss., Mrs. Lugene Cole of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Yvonne Zeringue of Slidell; a brother, Floyd Stapleton of Pass Christian, Miss.; 38 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
