Alfred Daniel Applewhite Jr.

Funeral services for Alfred Daniel Applewhite Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Midway Cemetery in Meadville.

Mr. Applewhite, 82, died Jan. 7, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lincoln County on March 23, 1929, to Alfred Applewhite Sr. and Pinkie Lea Applewhite.

He worked at Keystone Wire Plant and was a member of New Hope Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Billy Applewhite; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kinner and Minnie Carlock Freeman; sister-in-law, Nettie Freeman Britt; and brothers-in-law, Curtis Mason and Floyd Freeman.

Survivors are his wife, Etta Freeman Applewhite; son, Tony Daniel Applewhite, of Brookhaven; brother, Paul Applewhite, of Wesson; sisters, Evelyn Mason, of Brookhaven, Alice Smith, of Brookhaven, and Francis Davis and husband, Bill, of Wesson; brother-in-law, Lloyd Freeman; sisters-in-law, Irene Applewhite and Nellie Freeman; grandson, Jared Kinner Applewhite; and a host of nieces and nephews.
