Alfred F. Cassels Sr.

OLLA -- Services for Alfred F. Cassels Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rosefield Baptist Church, Olla, with the Revs. John Norwood and Joel Johnson officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Riser, Olla.

Cassels, 59, of San Diego, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Huey P. Long Medical Center, Pineville.

He was employed as a deputy sheriff and was retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Ira Holmes Cassels; one brother, Ronald Cassels; and two sisters, Anita Harrell and Rose Marie Ganey.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Cassels of San Diego; two sons, Alfred F. Cassels Jr. of Olla and Billy Leeth of Phoenix; three daughters, Sherry Lander of Phoenix, and Joni Hart and Toni Ritchey, both of San Diego; one brother, J.L. Cassels of Jena; three sisters, Brenda Taylor, Janet Bratton and Theresa Jameson, all of Olla; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today and from 8-11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church.
