MRS. ALICE BRANCH

WINNFIELD, Dec. 30 (Special) -- Mrs. Alice Branch, 77, of Montgomery, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday in her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Branch was a sister of J. R. Smith of West Monroe, whose wife was killed in a car wreck Thursday on Arkansas Road, and the mother of Mrs. Berdie Barnett, also of West Monroe.

Funeral services for Mrs. Branch will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lum Ellis, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery near Montgomery, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, of Winnfield.

Survivors include four sons, Cargle and Roy Branch, both of Montgomery, Herbert Branch, of Baton Rouge, and Lester Branch, of Houston, Tex.; six daughters, Mrs. Christine Gulledge, Mrs. Vera Bordelon, Mrs. Nita Rhoden and Mrs. Ester Rhodes, all of Montgomery, Mrs. Odel Lemoine, of Opelousas, and Mrs. Barnett; one brother, J. R. Smith; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Ann Pepper and Mrs. Sis Simmons, both of Sikes; and 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
