Mrs. Slocum, 88

GULFPORT, Miss. -- Mrs. Alice Susan Dorman Slocum, 88, died today at 3:20 a.m. in the Driftwood Nursing Center here.

She was born in Avoyelles parish, La., and resided in Monroe, La., prior to moving to the Gulf Coast 13 years ago. She was a graduate of Monroe High and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene here. She was the widow of Rev. S. D. Slocum.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Hammons of Gulfport and Mrs. Helen Geneva Semple of Alexandria, La.; one brother, Shelly Dorman of Rayville, La.; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Friends m[a]y call after 6 p.m. today in the Riemann Funeral Home chapel here. Services will be held in the chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. W. J. Harvison officiating. The body will be shipped to Hixson Bros. Funeral Home in Alexandria, La. Friends m[a]y call there Saturday night. Other arrangements will be announced by Hixson Bros.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
