A. M. M'CARTY IS DEAD AT LAUREL

LAUREL, Dec. 26 -- A. M. McCarty, 73, former employe of the Laurel Mills, and for many years a resident of this city, was laid to rest in the churchyard of Providence church, Jasper county, after funeral services were said there by Rev. J. W. Harrison, Stringer. The deceased died at his residence on Fourteenth avenue at 8 o'clock on Wednesday night.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. A. M. McCarty, six sons and eight daughters: H. O. McCarty of Laurel; Dewey, Leonard, Reuben, Roy and Elmond McCarty, Mrs. Carrie James, Bay Springs; Mrs. Rosa McNeill, Harlingen, Texas; Mrs. Ruth Stringer, Covington county; Mrs. Bertha High, D'Lo; Mrs. Leona McIntosh, Stringer; Mrs. Lula Smith, Hattiesburg; Mrs. Rebecca Robins [sic Robertson], Hammond, La., and Miss Irene McCarty of Laurel.
