DAWSON, ALLIE BATEMAN

Died 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1987, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. She was 96, a native of Amite County, Miss., and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, Miss., after 9 a.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Bob Bateman. Burial in New Hope Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery.

Survived by four sons, the Rev. Carlos Dawson, Yazoo City, Miss., Lamottis Dawson, Gloster, Miss., Loyd Dawson, Walls, Miss., and Nelson Dawson, Baton Rouge; four daughters, Annie Belle Crum, Baton Rouge, Maxine Von Drasek, Walls, Miss., Florence Byrd, Petal, Miss., and Tressie McKey, Centreville, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Mae Ross, New Orleans; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Luther Cleveland Dawson; three sons, Willis, Thomas and Roddis Dawson; and two daughters, Lula Estelle and Elsie Marie Dawson.

She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Protestant church.
