MRS. ALLIE McDANIEL
Funeral services for Mrs. Allie McDaniel are to be conducted at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the chapel of the Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Fant and the Rev. S. Monk officiating.
Interment will be in the Smith county Fellowship cemetery, near Taylorsville, with the Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was 88.
Death came in a Laurel hospital at 1:15 Wednesday morning. She had been in ill health some time.
A resident of Longview in the Pendorff community of Jones county for the past 40 years, she was the widow of the late R. L. McDaniel, and was widely known in this section.
Upon moving to the area, Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel established a business, which they operated for 30 years, and the community the name Longview.
Mrs. McDaniel leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. S. Wheeler and Mrs. A. L. Lockhart, Sr., both of Ellisville; four grandsons, Master Sergeant John H. Wheeler, United States Army, Master Sergeant R. G. Lockhart; and James A. Wheeler and A. L. Lockhart, Jr., both of Ellisville; 6 great grandchildren.
Named as pallbearers are Demp Pierce, Welton Scoggins, Lyon Moundy, C. A. Beard, Doyle Valentine and Ellis Hankins.
The body lies within a Thompson chapel to await the funeral hour.
