A. D. Adkins

Funeral services for Allison D. (Boss) Adkins of East Mountain were held Tuesday afternoon at East Mt. Baptist Church. Rev. Aubrey Pate officiated and burial was in East Mt. Cemetery with Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adkins, a native and lifetime resident of Upshur County, and a retired farmer, died at the Shreveport VA Hospital at 8:35 a.m. Oct. 27. At his death he was 78 years, 11 months and 10 days old. He was a Baptist and a veteran of World War I.

He married the former Ruby Fenton Dec. 23, 1922, in Longview, and she survives. Also surviving are four sons, Allison J. Adkins of New Hope, Ala., Billy Joe Adkins of Kilgore, Jimmy Adkins of East Mountain, and Clarence D. Adkins of Longview; two daughters, Mrs. Christine Woods of Gladewater and Mrs. Pauline Briley of Farmington, N.M.; eleven grandchildren; and three brothers, O. W. and Earl Adkins of East Mountain and R. A. Adkins of Gilmer.
