Funeral Is Held For Etex Woman

Texarkana, Texas, Feb. 2 (Special) -- Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the East funeral home here for Mrs. Elizabeth Alma Savell, 19, who was killed Thursday in a car accident just oustide the city limits.

Burial was held in the Rondo cemetery.

Mrs. Savell suffered a broken neck and crushed skull in the accident. She was a passenger in a car driven by her twin brother, Alvin Ritchie, he escaped serious injury.

Ritchie told city police that he struck a soft shoulder alongside the highway while attempting to pass a truck. His car flipped over twice.

Mrs. Savell is survived by her husband, her father, John D. Ritchie, her mother, Mrs. Lonnie Watt; a sister, Clara Mae Ritchie; a brother, Alvin, all of Texarkana; a half-brother, Leon Deramcey of Dallas and several aunts and uncles.

This was the first traffic death in Miller county in 1952.
