Funeral Services For Alma Fant To Be Held Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Fant, age 77, of Columbia Heights who passed away early Wednesday night, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 4 o'clock at the Columbia Heights Methodist Church with the Rev. J. D. Kitchingham in charge, assisted by the Rev. S. P. Emmanuel of the Grayson Methodist church.
Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Meredith, Robert F. Meredith, William Meredith, Dave R. Allen, Clyde James and C. C. Duke.
Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fant spent her entire life in Caldwell parish, with the exception of a short time while she resided in West Monroe. She was the widow of the late Tom Fant, who owned and operated a newsstand on Main street next to the James Hardware for many years.
She was before her marriage Miss Alma Thomas, and leaves many friends and relatives here who mourn her death.

Fant Funeral Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Fant of Columbia Heights were held last Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the Columbia Heights were held last Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the Columbia Heights Methodist church with the Rev. J. D. Kitchingham in charge. He was assisted by Rev. S. P. Emmanuel, pastor of the Grayson Methodist church.
Interment was made in the Columbia Hill cemetery under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Paul Meredith, Robert F. Meredith, Billy Meredith, Dave R. Allen, Clyde James and C. C. Duke.
Mrs. Fant was 77 years of age at the time of her death. She had been a lifelong resident of Columbia and Caldwell parish, with the exception of a short time she resided in West Monroe. She was the widow of the late Tom Fant, who owned and operated a newstand in Columbia for years. Before her marriage she was Miss Alma Thomas, the old Thomas home being located on Riser street.
Among the survivors are a sister [sic an aunt], Mrs. Robert Childress of ward six, as well as about 30 nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other friends in this parish who mourn her departure.
