Almo Elliott, 73, Succumbs; Buried At New Hope

Almo Elliott, 73, retired carpenter of Dodson, died in a Winnfield hospital at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, October 7, after a lengthy illness.

Last rites were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dodson Methodist Church of which he was a member. Officiating was the Rev. Grafton Shaw.

Acting as pallbearers were Paul Vane Gaar, Clayton Norred, Reubin Simpkins, Carthal Payne, Loy Gaar, and Herman Scott.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. R. E. Johnson, Eau Gallie, Fla., Mrs. H. R. Jackson, Bossier City, and Mrs. C. C. Hodges, Trona, Calif.; one foster son, Howard French, Jonesboro; two brothers, A. H., Jackson, Miss., and Ashford, Alexandria; four sisters, Mrs. W. C. Webb, Alexandria, Mrs. Hugh Larson, Norphlet, Ark., Mrs. C. W. Edwards, Ruston, and Mrs. Zella Doucet, Washington, La.; seven grandchildren and two stepsons.
