A. B. Wellons Succumbs To Long Illness

Deceased Was Injured About Two Years Ago and Never Recovered Fully; Funeral This Morning At 11 o'clock At Home Near Town

The death of A. B. Wellons occurred at his home near Smithfield yesterday morning at seven o'clock following a long illness. About two years ago Mr. Wellons fell on a crosscut saw and one of the teeth of the saw struck under his kneecap. He spent several weeks in the hospital here and while he became somewhat improved he was never well again.

The funeral will be held at the home this morning at eleven o'clock, after which the body will be brought to Smithfield and interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.

The deceased was 65 years of age. He is survived by his wife who was Miss Mary Lynch of San Antonio, Texas; by four sons, Almond Wellons, who lives near Four Oaks, John, Walter, and Edwin Wellons, who live at the home place; and by four daughters, Mrs. Egbert Jones of Selma, Mrs. Joseph Parker of near Four Oaks; Mrs. W. R. Johnson of Raleigh, and Mrs. Graham Smith of this city.

He is also survived by three brothers and one sister, J. A. Wellons of this city, Charlie Wellons of Four Oaks, Robert Wellons of Conway, S. C., and Mrs. Robert Lee of Falcon.
