MRS. ALPHA EMMONS

PLEASANT HILL, Dec. 14 (Special) -- Mrs. Alpha Emmons, longtime resident of this community, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the Prothro Clinic after a lingering illness. She was 85.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. J. C. Salley officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. A. Latimer. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Funeral Home of Many.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Berth[a] Powell and Mrs. J. B. Greggory [sic J. D. Gregory], both of Pleasant Hill; Mrs. Rosa Spinks of Colfax and Mrs. Ottie Weeds [sic Weed] of Shubuta, Miss.; two sons, L. K. [Emmons of Pleasant Hill and I. B. Emmons of Ruston; brother, R. L.] Bufkin of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Alpha Bufkin Emmons

Services for Mrs. Alpha Bufkin Emmons, 85, who died at Pleasant Hill, Friday, Dec. 14, were conducted at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 10 a.m., Dec. 15, with Rev. J. C. Salley officiating, assisted by Rev. Latimer. Interment was at Wallace Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home.

Survivors are L. K. Emmons of Pleasant Hill, E. B. Emmons [sic I. B. EMMONS] of Ruston; daughters, Mrs. Bertha Powell of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. J. D. Gregory of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Rosa Spinks of Colfax, Mrs. Ottie Weed of Shubuta, Miss.; brother, R. L. Bufkin of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
