Mr. Alsey Byron Johnson

Mr. Alsey Byron Johnson, 93, of Dunn died Wednesday morning at his residence. The Johnston County native was born October 23, 1916 to the late Mancy and Vera L. Johnson.
Alsey served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the European Theater as an aerial photographer and a gunner. He was a member of the American Legion Post 59, Palmyra Lodge # 147 AF & AM, Scottish Rite and Sudan Temple. He was a cotton buyer, seller and ginner as the owner and president of ABJ Enterprise Inc. In his early years he was vice president of Johnson Cotton Co., and also past president of the N.C. Cotton Ginners Association and was on the Dunn Planning Board for many years.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery by Dr. David Sherrod.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fay S. Johnson, two sons, Byron Johnson and wife Carolyn of Asheboro, John Alsey Johnson and wife Sharon of Dunn, a daughter, June J. Green and husband Richard of Dunn, two brothers, Lee Johnson of Smithfield, Clem Johnson of Elizabethtown, two sisters, Marjorie Johnson of Four Oaks, Edna Earle Bryan of Winston Salem, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
