Alson D. “Pete” Erskine

SHREVEPORT

Services for Mr. Alson D. “Pete” Erskine, 80, of Shreveport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday Dec. 5 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. The Rev. Howard B. Childs, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Erskine, a retired clerk at the U.S. Postal Service, after 41 years of service, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 1983, at Highland Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Four Square Bible Class. Mr. Erskine was born in Sikes, La. and had lived in Shreveport for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maurine Erskine of Shreveport, two step-sons, Jack N. Caldwell of Shreveport and Joe Ray Caldwell of Houston, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
