Alton L. Cannon Dies Today; Rites Incomplete Here

Alton L. Cannon, 51, of Rt. 2 Monroe died at his residence early today after a brief illness.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mr. Cannon was a native of Carthage, Miss., a veteran of World War II and retired from the service. He resided in Monroe for the past 10 years.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nancy Cannon, Monroe; four sons, Larry Cannon, Tommy Cannon, Jeff Cannon and Allen Cannon, all of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Phillips, West Monroe; two brothers, Chrissler Cannon, Monroe and John Cannon, Rayville; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Howard, Vidalia, and Mrs. Gustie Gilley and Mrs. Lucy Dear, both of Monroe; parents, Mrs. [sic Mr.] and Mrs. Joe Cannon, Monroe; and three grandchildren.
