Former Parish Resident Died on Last Friday
Funeral services for A. G. McKeithen, 46, a former Grayson and Monroe resident of Bloomington,
Tex., were held on last Saturday in the Riser and Son Funeral Home chapel at Columbia.
Burial was made in the Welcome Home Cemetery, located east of Grayson on the Holum highway.
Mr. McKeithen was born and reared in the Holum and Grayson communities of this parish, but
moved to Monroe several years ago. He died in a Bloomington, Texas hospital Wednesday after a
heart attack. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Chapter 283, Monroe. He was a graduate of
the Grayson high school.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth McAllister, who resides in Bloomington, Texas; a son,
Alton Gart (sic) McKeithen, Jr., also of Bloomington, Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E.
McKeithen of the Riverside Nursing Home of Monroe; six sisters: Mrs. Lloyd Walters of Monroe,
Mrs. Moice Saucier of Shreveport, Mrs. Thressa Laborde of Covington, Mrs. Naomi Biggs of Kelly,
and Mrs. Bill Bates of Alexandria, and Mrs. W. J. Carr of Port Lavaca, Texas, and a brother, O.
A. McKeithen of Baton Rouge.
