Alton Lacoy Ford

Services for Alton Lacoy Ford will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Manifest with Rev. David Poole, Rev. Scott Fletcher, Rev. Rusty Hathcock, and Rev. Cecil Grantham officiating. Interment will be in Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will from 5 p.m. Tuesday until time of service in the Church.

Alton Lacoy Ford, age 81, of Harrisonburg, died Monday, July 7, 2008 in Alexandria.

He was born October 27, 1926 in Jonesville to Ervin Ezekial Ford and Lettie Creel Ford.

Mr. Ford had been a life-long resident of Catahoula Parish and was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church. He was a retired pulpwooder and a member of the Black Gum Spring Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Thelma Gibson Ford, grandchild, Loretta Arnae' Boyd, and two brothers Henry Ford and Dewey Ford.

Survivors include his wife, Alpha Lea Ford of Harrisonburg; five daughters, Gloria Tomlinson and husband, H.J. of Harrisonburg, Alean Tolbert and husband, Cleve, Helen Boyce and husband Billy, Tammy Renee Smith and husband, Kyle all of Jonesville, and Pam Ford of Natchez, Mississippi; step-children, Steve Tomlinson and wife, Sharon of Harrisonburg, Nancy Guin and husband, Wallace of Colfax and Tim Tomlinson and wife, Hazel of Jonesville; brother, Daniel C. Ford of Denham Springs; sister, Laurece Netherland of Greenwell Springs; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Paul D. Ford, Jason Lacoy Tomlinson, William Aaron Hutchins, Jesse Smith, Jody Paul Timlnson, Kristopher Bath, Jon Heard, and Clint Randall.
