ALTON T. McDANIEL
Alton T. McDaniel, Sandersville, died today at Laurel General Hospital. He was 77 and had been a lifelong resident of Jones County. He was retired from employment with the Gulf Oil Corp. He was a member of Sandersville Baptist Church and of Breckenridge No. 309 Masonic Lodge of Sandersville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Jolly will officiate. Burial will be in Sandersville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Morgan, Henry Bridges, Larry Griffin, Walter H. "Buzz" Jacks, Charles Smith and W. C. McCraney.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his widow, Doris Triplett McDaniel, Sandersville; one brother, Major C. McDaniel, Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Amy) Suddith Sr. and Ann Towles, Sandersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Memory Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
