LAST RITES FOR ALVIE LEE WHITTINGTON

Former Pike County employee Alvie Lee Whittington, a 55 year old resident of Magnolia, died Saturday at Beacham's Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 29, 1985 at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.

Mr. Whittington was born July 30, 1929 and was the son of the late Sam Whittington and Lula Freeman Whittington. Mr. Whittington served in the Army in Korea, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked as a heavy equipment operator in Pike County's second supervisor's district.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Fay Whittington; a son, Jimmy Whittington; a daughter, DeDe Whittington, all of Magnolia; a brother, J. C. Whittington of Liberty; three sisters, Clarice Allred of Auburn, Geraldine Blalock of Liberty and Marlene Ogden of Mobile, Ala.; three grandchildren, Justin Whittington, Justin LeBlanc and Jason LeBlanc, all of Magnolia.

Burial was in the East Union Cemetery.
