Alvin A. Crain Rites Set Today
Funeral services for Alvin A. Crain, 64, of 3834 Joplin St., who died Monday at 4 a.m. in the Veterans Administration Hospital after a lengthy illness, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Rose-Neath Chapel.
A retired salesman, Mr. Crain was a member of Linwood Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of World War I. He was born in Boatner and had lived in Shreveport 20 years.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Darwin Crain of Vivian, Jerry Crain and Glen Crain of Shreveport; five brothers, B. M. Crain of Atlanta, Ga., B. W. Crain of Joplin, Mo., C. H. Crain of Winnfield, J. M. Crain and Lamar Crain of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Ola Gaar of Dodson and Mrs. P. T. Dark, Mrs. J. D. Ingouf and Mrs. A. M. Tyler of Shreveport, and two grandchildren.
The Rev. W. H. Sims, pastor of the Linwood church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park.
Pallbearers will be Frank Ledbetter, Marshall Reagan, Lucien Johnson, Wiley Sharbeno, Jimmy Shaffin and Jim Wilkinson.
