Alvin F. Ford

Funeral services for Mr. Alvin F. Ford will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with Revs. Arvie Jolly and Emmit Belgard officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Mr. Ford, 92, was born October 10, 1916 and passed from this life on April 18, 2009 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena.

Mr. Ford was a logger in the timber industry.

He is survived by daughter, Vicki Dianne Thompson of Ball; two sons, Bobby Lee Ford and wife Evelyn and Travis Ford and wife Virgina both of Jonesville; sister, Velma Lee Jones of Jena; brother, Benjamin E. (Pete) Ford, Jr. of Jonesville; son-in-law, Michael Ducote; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Ford; parents, Benjamin Esau and Annie Ruth Bass Ford; daughter, Gloria Sue Ford Ducote; brothers, Albert, Sherman and Wonnie Ford; two sisters, Audie Brown and Ruth Bass.

Pallbearers will be Barry Ford, Kyle Ford, Joseph Davis, John Davis, Monty Smith, James Ford, Todd Babin and Freddie (Butch) Bass.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Todd Babin, Jr., Spencer Yarbough, Travis Smith and Cullen Jordan.

Friends may call on the Ford family Sunday, April 19, 2009 beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena.
