Pioneer Dies At Roscoe
ROSCOE, Feb. 28. (RNS) -- Alvin Allison Hanes, 84, resident of Nolan County for 84 years, died here at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Young Hospital.
Funeral will be in the Roscoe Methodist Church, 3:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Raymond Van Zandt and the Rev. G. W. Parks officiating. Burial in the Roscoe Cemetery will be directed by Wells Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Mr. Hanes, a retired stock-farmer, was born July 12, 1863 in Louisiana.
Surviving him are three sons, Grover of Roscoe, Elmon of Dallas and Will C. of Odessa; six daughters, Mrs. Arlie Nelson and Mrs. Valta Martin of Roscoe, Mrs. Pearl Hurt of Gonado [sic Ganado], Mrs. Bert Greenawlt [sic Greenawalt] of Seagoville, Mrs. Joe Carter of Sweetwater and Mrs. Clara Seals [sic Seale] of Wastella; 39 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
