ALVIN J. ANDERS

Alvin J. Anders, 85, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, at Butler-Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home, 22 S. 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102; burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Anders was born July 10, 1915, in Jersey, AR. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the AFL-CIO Local Union for Armour Meat Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vina-Lou Anders in October 1976, son, Joel Gary Anders in May 1968, sister, Cilmia, and brother, Johnny Anders.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Anders, Worthington, MN; son, Donald L. Anders & wife Judy, Bonner Springs, KS; stepsons, Manuel Hanson & wife April and Robert Hanson & wife Jansen, all of Sherman, TX; brothers, Grady Anders, Bryan, TX, and Jessie Anders, California; sisters, Sue Cook, Oklahoma City, OK, and Sula, Arkansas; and stepgrandchildren, Ryan, John, Brandon, and Erin.
