Alvis Edward Parker

Alvis Edward Parker, 103, of Bay Springs, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Fair Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Stringer.

A carpenter and farmer, he was a member of Fair Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline McBay Parker; a son, James Howard Parker; and parents, Henry and Viola McCarty Parker.

He is survived by three [sic four] sons, Charles Parker of Biloxi and Clifton Parker, Mack Parker and Spurgeon Parker, all of Stringer; a daughter, Christine Elrod of Sunset, Texas; two brothers, Forest [sic Forrest] Parker of Bay Springs and Noris [sic Norris] Parker of Jackson; a sister, Lucille King of Pascagoula; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
