Mississippi Rites Set for Mrs. Stewart
Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia W. Stuart, 57, of 3063 Calumet St., will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church near Liberty, Miss.
A resident of Baton Rouge for five years, Mrs. Stewart died Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Sanitarium at 4:30 a.m. after an extended illness.
The body was taken from Hallabaugh-Seale Funeral Home Thursday to the Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. Burial will be held in the Liberty Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by six sons, Lester of Alexandria, Ressie of the Bronx, N.Y., Willis of Galveston, Tex., and Earl, Raymond and Cletus of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Fred Whittington of Liberty, Miss., Lee of Gladewater, Tex., and Dona of Liberty.
Five sisters, Miss Bertha and Miss Myrtis Whittington of Liberty, Mrs. Lottie Baxter of Gloster, Mrs. Lona Bolhman of Theodore, Ala., and Mrs. Vina Williamson of Clarksdale, Miss.; and 11 grandchildren.
She was a native of Amite County, Miss.
