Former Resident Of Winn Buried At Zion Hill May 2
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, for A. S. Peters, 66, at Zion Hill
Church with Rev. Tanner of Monroe and the Church of God pastor from Hodge,
La., officiating. Interment was made in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers
included Clarence Jordan of Tannehill and his nephews, Lt. W. W. Peters of
Camp Polk, Lt. James C. Peters of Pensacola, Fla., and Stewart Peters of
Sterlington.
Mr. Peters was born in Winn Parish January 28, 1876. He resided [t]her[e] until the
year 1909 and was living at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Beville of
Mansfield at the time of his death May 1. His death was the result of
pneumonia.
Surviving Mr. Peters are his daughter, Mrs. Roy Beville, of Mansfield; two
sisters, Mrs. Mary Fox of Tannehill, Mrs. P. O. Moffett of Natchitoches; four
brothers, J. S. Peters of Shreveport, W. H. Peters of Winnfield, I. N. Peters
of Sterlington, and B. A. Peters of Selimas, California, and several nieces
and nephews.
