Mrs. Halstead, Brazos Native, Claimed by Death
Mrs. Amy Bullock Halstead, 61, a Brazos County native who had lived in
San Antonio for approximately the past 20 years, died in a San Antonio
hospital Friday night.
Funeral services are scheduled for today at 2:30 p.m. from Callaway-Jones
Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Richard H. Poss, pastor of the Bryan First
Baptist Church officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Alvin A. Robinson,
pastors of the Central Baptist and Calvary Baptist churches, respectively.
Wife of Sgt. James Halstead of San Antonio, she also is survived by five
sisters, Mrs. C. P. Powers, Mrs. Ollie Crenshaw, Mrs. Lloyd Smith and Mrs.
John Smith, all of Bryan and Mrs. Gladys Boring of San Antonio; six
brothers, Sam, C. F., C. M. and Curtis Bullock, all of Bryan; E. E. Bullock
of Houston; Horace Bullock of Alanreed, Texas; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Born March 27, 1900, she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery with the following nephews serving
as pallbearers, Jerry, Enoch and Ralph Smith, W. N. and Lum Powers and
Curtis Bullock Jr.
