SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Amy L. Smith, 75, will be held at 2 p.m, Tuesday, August 25, 1998 at Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Hudspeth, pastor of Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church; assisted by Rev. John Berry from Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Stanley, La.
Mrs. Smith went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 1998 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Desoto Parish, La. and had resided in Shreveport for 20 years. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Lizzie Bell Hensley and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Madie Whittley and husband, Ed of Center, TX, Patsy Austin and husband, David of Frierson, LA; one sister, Ruth Wright and husband, Eugene of Bellville, MI; two brothers, Curtis Hensley and wife Johnnie of Grand Cane, La., Mervin Hensley and wife, Evelyn of Fort Necessity, La.; six grandchildren, Lisa Whittley; Bill Whittley and wife, Misti; Kevin Mark Roberts and wife, Kelly; Stephanie, Tasha and Brandon Austin; two great grandchildren, Truit Whittley and Baby Noah Roberts; a host of nieces, nephews and friends that she loved very much.
Pallbearers will be Willis Martin, Matt Parmelee, Paul Webb, Adam Rimmer, Neal McVey and Jarod Needham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bro. Al McKinney and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Cedar Hill family, Dr. Robert Massingill, Dr. Robert Savory and to the staff of Hospice of Shreveport-Bossier.
The family suggests memorials may be made to King's Temple United Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Smith requested that we leave the following with you, she wanted you to know that she loved Jesus very much and she would see her family and friends again very soon. She leaves behind all her love for you.
