Amy McDaniel Suddith, 93, of Sandersville, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Laurelwood Living Center in Laurel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Sandersville Baptist Church with burial in Sandersville Cemetery. The Revs. Donnie Parker and Bud Swindall will officiate.
A retired homemaker she was a lifelong resident of Sandersville and a member of Sandersville Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Clark College and a former school teacher anda former clerk with the Jones County sheriff and tax collector. She was a member of the Sandersville Chapter of the Eastern Star and was the first hostess for Memory Chapel Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry I. Suddith; parents, Amos and Florence McDaniel; five brothers, Ed McDaniel, Sidney McDaniel, Major McDaniel, Bowen McDaniel and Alton McDaniel; and four sisters, Mary Carter, Mattie McDaniel, Hattie Bustin and Anne Towles.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harry I. and Betty Suddith of Pachuta and John Suddith of Sandersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Suddith Hickson and Bill Hickson of Sandersville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lucille Holt Suddith of Laurel; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be men of Sandersville Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Silver Liners Choir of Sandersville Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Sandersville Baptist Church music ministry or building fund. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Friday.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
