FUNERAL TODAY AT MT. OLIVE FOR MR. A. J. COTNEY

Deceased Had Been Connected With Bibb Manufacturing Co. For Many Years.

Following an illness of several months, Mr. Andrew Cotney, well-known and highly esteemed Taylor county citizen, peacefully passed away about eight o'clock Tuesday night surrounded by loved ones and friends.

Since early manhood, Mr. Cotney had been connected with the Bibb Manufacturing Company at Taylor Mill and one of the company's most valuable employees.

Mr. Cotney recently celebrated his 62nd birthday, the date of his birth being October. 30, 1882 and life-long resident of the county. His parents were the late Mr. William and Mrs. Sallie Taunton Cotney.

Surviving Mr. Cotney, besides the wife are two daughters, Mrs. W. F. Hobbs and Mrs. H. W. Bearden; two sons, Messrs Douglas and Willie Cotney; two brother[s], Messrs David and Allen Cotney; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Youngblood, Mrs. Minnie Morrel, Mrs. Ella Corley, Thomaston, and Mrs. Ida Godfry, Macon; also fifteen grand-children.

Mr. Cotney was a member of a religious sect known as the Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services and interment will take place today, 11 a.m., at Mt. Olive cemetery, Taylor Mill, Elder Ralph C. Brown, of Atlanta conducting the service with the following acting as pallbearers: Messrs J. W. Windham, Clay Smith, Dan and Lee Posey, Hugh Windham and Johnnie Youngblood.

Edwards Brothers Funeral Home of Butler was in charge of arrangements.
