Funeral Service for Mr. Jack Payne At Reynolds Apr 26
Funeral services at the Reynolds Methodist church in charge of Rev. Walter Flanders, pastor, on the afternoon of April 26th, were conducted for Mr. Andrew Jackson Payne, son of the late A. J. and Susan Fountain Payne who died the previous day at the Goodwill Nursing Home in Macon.
The deceased had been a lifelong resident of Reynolds except for the past eight months. He retired from business two years ago on account of declining health.
The remains of the deceased were laid to rest in the family lot Hill Crest cemetery. Those acting as pallbearers were: Messrs Henry Payne, James Gray, A. J. Fountain, Tom Fountain, James Hollis, Bobby Ayers, Clifford Whatley, Clay Whatley. Honorary: Stewards of the Reynolds Methodist Church.
Surviving the deceased are: two brothers, Eugene E. Payne, Reynolds; W. P. Payne, Atlanta; three sisters, Mrs. C. R. Avera, Roberta; Mrs. W. E. Allen, Jasper; Mrs. W. L. Waldorf [sicWaldrop], Port Royal, S.C.; step mother, Mrs. Elba Payne, Jasper.
He was a brother of Mrs. [sic Mr.] D. W. (Coot) Payne who died only two weeks ago.
Goddard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
