Ann C. Johns

Funeral service for Ann C. Johns, of Winnsboro, will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Winnsboro, on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dwight DeJesus officiating. The family will receive friends at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro, on Friday, May 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Interment in Ogden Cemetery.

Mrs. Johns, 77, was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Bude, Miss., and passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her home in Winnsboro. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.

Preceded in death by her father, Ralph Causey; mother, Lena Mae Martin Causey; stepfather, Henry Hall Taylor; daughter, Kathy Rebecca Johns; brother, Freddie Lee Causey; and sister, Nellie Eloise Cox.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.A. Johns, of Winnsboro; two daughters, Cindy Johns, of Baton Rouge, and Lori Lafferty, of Winnsboro; nine grandchildren, Nathan and Warren Mixon, Jim Dawson and wife Jessica, Aimee Dawson, Ashley Dawson, Caleb Moinot and wife Stephanie, and Missy, Jordan and Jennifer Lafferty; three great-grandchildren, Brady and Abbey Dawson and Caleb James Moinot; and an aunt, Sarah ``Bay'' Erskin, of Winnsboro. Pallbearers will be Patrick Davis, John Evans, Kerry Bergeron, Warren Mixon, Caleb Moinot and Anthony Johns.

Honorary pallbearer is Kent Bennett. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mrs. Johns' caregivers, Sue McNeese and Consuella Knox.
