Mrs. Anna McCarty Smith

Mrs. Anna McCarty Smith, 82, resident of Montrose, died at the family residence, Wednesday afternoon. She was the widow of the late John C. Smith of Montrose.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Palestine Baptist church, east of Mt. Rose with the Revs. H. Tynes, A. Conrad and V. L. Crowley, officiating. Interment will be in the Palestine Cemetery.

The body will remain at the family home until funeral time.

She is survived by four daughters, Mesdames Spurgeon King, and J. T. Green, Louin; Ollie McHaney, Atlanta, Ga., and Charley Flynn, Montrose; four sons, Vebra [sic Verba], Willie, Curtis and Buron [sic Buren] Smith all of Montrose; 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Lorene McCarty and Mrs. R. A. Smith, Montrose, and Mrs. Ada Worken, Greenwood; 1 brother, John D. McCarty, Montrose.
