Funeral services for Annie Laura Stephens Kimble, 86, of Wisner, La will be 2 PM Saturday, July 25, 2009 Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert, LA with Rev. Virgil Harris and Rev. William Cheek officiating under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at the church

.Annie Laura, Granny, to those who knew and loved her, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2009. She was born on September 21, 1922 to the union of C. C. and Odie Stephens of Wisner, LA. She was the oldest of six children. Granny's love for cooking and caring for others began at an early age. She often spoke of cooking family meals while standing on a five gallon bucket. In later years she would boast, ``I'll cook as long as they'll let me''. She was married for sixty one years to the love of her life, Ben C. Kimble, Jr. She loved her family and was very proud to be a farmer's wife. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband ; one son: Ben C. Kimble III and two brothers: J. D. Stephens and Charlie W. Stephens.

Mrs. Kimble is survived by two daughters: Linda Girod and husband Mert, and Penny Lawrence and husband Johnny. One sister; Jeanette James and husband, Billy; two brothers: Webster K. Stephens and wife Betty and C. C. Stephens Jr. and wife, Elsie; Sisters-in-law: Faye Stephens, Gladys Stephens, and Annie Lee Kimble; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Granny had a special plane [sic place] in her heart for the nurses and staff of Plantation Manor, Dr, Tom Colvin, Helen and George Johnson, and Gloria Ezell.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Richardson, Michael Williamson, Joey Williamson, Terry Stephens, Cary Cheek, Buddy Wilks, Stephen James and Lex Giddens.

Honorary Pallbearers are Don Thompson, Bo Thompson, Wayne Stephens, Donald Stephens, Bubba Ferguson, and Danny Stephens.
