Annie Lea Elenburg
February 1, 1927 - September 20, 2012

Annie Lea Elenburg, 85, of Wichita Falls, died Thursday, September 20, 2012.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shields officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Cora (Starnes) and Hense Newsom, Mrs. Elenburg was born February 1, 1927, in Kelly, Louisiana. On June 7, 1947, she married L. M. Elenburg, Jr. in Handley, Texas. Mrs. Elenburg was a homemaker who loved and cherished family and friends. She was an expert seamstress and a wonderful cook. She will be remembered for her fried chicken and peanut brittle and clusters. Mrs. Elenburg was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church for most of her life. She loved her Sunday School classes where she made and treasured lifelong friends.

Mrs. Elenburg was also preceded in death by her husband, L. M. Elenburg, Jr. She is survived by her precious daughter, Diana Powell and husband, Charles, of Oklahoma City, OK; two granddaughters, Stephanie Terry and husband, Tony, and Karen Kerl and husband, Jeff, all of Midwest City, OK; great-grandchildren, David Terry, Jonathan Terry, Stephen Kerl and Katherine Kerl; sisters, Marceil Frazier of Shreveport, LA and Betty Ray Elenburg of Bossier City, LA; brother, James H. Newsom of Kelly, LA; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012.
