Anthony Catanese

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Graveside Services celebrating the life of Anthony Catanese will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park St. Vincent , in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel prior to graveside. Presiding will be Father Thomas with Christus Schumpert. Mr Catanese was born September 16, 1917 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on December 11, 2009 at age 92.

Mr. Catanese was a long time member of St. John's Berchmans Cathedral. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Air Force and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. After the war, he became the owner and operator of C& C Grocery store until his retirement. He was a self taught musician who enjoyed playing both the piano and guitar. The family would like to thank Terry McDonald and Jim McCoy for their loving care during his last several months.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Myrtis Erskine Catanese. Left to cherish his memory are: two daughters, Diane Stewart and Linda Youngblood, son-in-law, Tom Youngblood; and five grandchildren, Kimberly Allard, Shelley Cooper, and Mitch, Anna, and George Youngblood; one great-grandchild, Max Youngblood; brother, Joseph Catanese, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tom Youngblood, Mitch Youngblood, George Youngblood, Kenny Lerchie, Larry Porter, and Steve Catanese.
