MEADVILLE -- Archie B. Coleman, 63, a retired lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force, died of cancer Thursday at his home.

Services are 11 a.m. today Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. today at the church. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Coleman was a Vicksburg native. He was a retired United Methodist lay minister. He was a Vietnam U.S. Air Force veteran. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a retired tree farmer. He was a member of Franklin County Forestry Association. He was senior warden of John A. Galbreath #334 Masonic Lodge 32nd Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Fairbanks, Alaska, and a Shriner at the Alaska Shrine Temple.

Survivors include: wife, Bobbie; mother, Elsie Frazier Coleman of Meadville; daughters, Terri Coleman Lucas of Augusta, Ga., Pamela Coleman Renfroe of Auburn, Ala., Cindy Coleman Mayeur of Cutoff, La., and Tracy Coleman Jordan of Alexandria, La.; sister, Vernette Coleman Thomas of Meadville; and eight grandchildren.
