Arthur Troy ``Art'' Sikes

SIKES Arthur Troy ``Art'' Sikes was born in Shreveport, LA on August 7, 1935, and departed this life in Tulsa, OK on August 31, 2002. He was 67 years of age.

Art was the son of Troy A. and Eloise (Hough) Sikes. He graduated from North Little Rock High School and then entered the University Of Arkansas. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas in 1957, and then served two years overseas with the United States Army. Upon being discharged from the armed forces in 1960, he began his career at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired from Tinker in 1991. He married Judith Nosalek in Prague on October 17, 1963. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Mary Beth Byrne. Survivors include his wife, Judith Sikes, of the home; one son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Maria Sikes, Moore, OK; one daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Phillip Jackson, Earlsboro; his mother-in-law, Helen Nosalek, Branson, MO; one son-in-law, James Byrne, Laurel, MD; one brother-in-law & his wife, Dan & Lela Nosalek, Gore, OK; six grandchildren, Tyler Sikes, Allie Sikes, Harrison Sikes & Sarah Sikes, Emily Jackson & Kendra Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 A.M. in the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
